GP Management Plans and Medicare Rebates
If you have a chronic condition such as diabetes, your GP may discuss eligibility for a Chronic Disease GP Management Plan (GPMP) and Team Care Arrangements (TCA) under Medicare. Where eligible, these plans may provide access to a limited number of subsidised allied health visits per calendar year, which can include Diabetes Educator services.
Eligibility, rebate amounts and the number of subsidised visits are determined by Medicare and your individual clinical circumstances. Your GP and our reception team can provide
further information at the time of your consultation.
Fees for Diabetes Educator Appointments
Bendigo Doctors is a bulk billing GP clinic for standard GP consultations. Diabetes Educator appointments may incur a private fee where Medicare rebates do not apply, or may be partially rebated under an eligible GP Management Plan.
Our reception team will advise you of any out-of-pocket cost when you book. Payment is accepted on the day of your appointment via cash, credit card or EFTPOS.
What to Expect at a Diabetes Educator Appointment
Your appointment will begin with a discussion of your diabetes history, current management and any concerns you would like to address. The Diabetes Educator will then provide tailored information and discuss strategies that may support your self-management, in line with your GP’s care plan.
